1.There are three main methods for bonding plastic greenhouse film, which are introduced in detail as follows:
1.Adhesive Bonding MethodVinyl chloride resin plastic adhesive is mainly used to bond and repair polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film, while polyurethane adhesive can be adopted for polyethylene (PE) film repair. Sometimes, a heated small steel hacksaw blade can also be used to seal the film by hot pressing.
2.Mud Slurry Patching MethodFor minor damages such as scratches and creases on the greenhouse film during use, cut a piece of plastic film, coat it with mud slurry, and stick it on the damaged area directly.
3.Thermal Bonding MethodFirst, prepare a straight and smooth wooden strip as a base plate, nail a fine iron window screen on it, and fix the plate on a wooden bench. To prevent damage to the plastic during heat sealing, use a plane to smooth the side edges of the wooden strip into a rounded surface.Align one edge of each of the two film sheets to be bonded on the wooden strip with an overlap of about 4-5 centimeters. This operation requires 3 to 4 people to work together: two people are responsible for aligning the film seams on both sides of the wooden strip respectively; the third person places a strip of kraft paper or old newspaper (8-10 cm wide and 1.2-1.5 m long) over the aligned film seam. After covering, use a preheated electric iron to slowly push from one end of the wooden strip to the other with appropriate pressure based on experience.The temperature of the electric iron, the downward pressure, and the pushing speed should be controlled to the extent that the two film sheets under the paper are softened to a certain degree and bonded together by heat. Then peel off the paper strip, pull the bonded section of the film to the other end of the wooden strip, and repeat the above steps to bond the next section. Continue the cycle until the film is bonded to the required length.
